Apartments often have smaller than average kitchens, but that doesn’t mean your kitchen has to be a mess! By keeping it carefully organized, you can maximize your space and increase your own efficiency.
Do you use your blender for smoothies all the time, but rarely touch your cake mixer? By organizing your kitchen based on the frequency of use, you’ll have no problem finding and maintaining the location of appliances and objects in your kitchen. For instance, if you use your measuring spoons each and every day when cooking, be sure that they are located closest to the stove and in an easy to reach spot. If there’s an appliance, utensil, or object that you rarely use in the kitchen, except on special occasions, it’s okay to store that item in a totally different location or on a higher shelf.
How many of us are guilty of having cabinets, shelves and storage areas full of mismatched plastic containers such as Tupperware? Instead of attempting to match each container to the proper lid, you can invest in a type of interlocking or nesting container pack. These containers are meant for easy organization and helping to get rid of the clutter in your kitchen. A little investment can go a long way, especially when you are trying to save space.
We need pots and pans to cook each and every day. However, many apartment dwellers make the mistake of storing these essential items far away from the stove and/or oven! To make your life easier and your cooking experience much more pleasant, make sure that your pots, pans and other cooking necessities are as close to the oven and stove as possible.
Do you have low cabinet space in your apartment? If so, you may want to look into purchasing a sliding organization system. When you store all of your pots and pans in the cabinets near your stove and oven, you can use the sliding organizer to easily access these necessary items!
