Ideas for Valentine’s Day in Nashville

February 14, 2020

How often do you get out and try something new? If you live outside of Nashville, you might not always want to take the time to drive into the city, paying for parking or taking a ride service. But especially on a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, it can be fun to try something new and see what Nashville has to offer! Try one of these unique dates for your next romantic night out in Nashville.

Catch a Show at TPAC or the Nashville Symphony

There is a show for everyone at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, from traditional plays and musical theater to concerts to comedy shows. The Nashville Symphony not only plays classical music, but also performs music from famous movies and hosts prominent musicians for concerts. You can enjoy a show and discuss it over dinner or drinks afterward.

Watch a Film at the Belcourt Theater

This is no average movie date. The historic Belcourt Theatre in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood shows independent films you won’t be able to see anywhere else in town. It’s certainly a different experience than visiting the movie theater to see the latest superhero flick! And in addition to popcorn, the Belcourt provides concessions that include beer, wine, and specialty sweets.

Tour a Local Distillery or Brewery

For couples with an interest in the behind the scenes world of booze, there are several distilleries and breweries in the Nashville area that offer tours (and tastings!) to the public. This date is more creative than simply going to get drinks, and it’s educational, too! It’s also a great way to support the local community and enjoy some delicious beverages.

Take in the Arts Scene

Music isn’t the only scene to explore in Nashville! There is a vibrant arts scene in town, including the Frist Museum and the 21c Museum Hotel. Every first Saturday of the month, there is a free art crawl to enjoy at the 5th Avenue of the Arts galleries. There is almost nothing more romantic than strolling hand in hand through a gallery full of beautiful artwork.

Pour Your Own Candle

Why buy a candle when you can make your own? A partner of the Paddywax candle company, The Candle Bar (locations in Berry Hill and East Nashville) allows visitors to hand pour their own candles, using a scent and vessel of their choosing. This is a date for the couple that appreciates the little details that make a home, since all of the candle vessels feature striking designs you can proudly display in your home.

Nashville has a lot to offer for couples looking for a memorable night out, but not everyone wants to live among the hustle and bustle.
